I was wondering is someone could help me out a little. I've been trying to get my dogs to do the broad jump for agility, since I only show in two trials right now and I'd like to show more dogs and in more trials, but my dogs are so stubborn. Everytime I move the treat to their side to teach them to jump, they just turn towards the treat. Am I doing it wrong?

Which petz version do you use? And are it dogz that you have adopted from someone else or imported from another game version?

I use Petz 4. The first dog I attempted with was Sienna, a lab adopted from DJWolfPup. I believe she uses P3.

There's a glitch with dogz bred/hexed/adopted in P3 when they are in P4. They will only do tricks for treats when they are in P3, when they are in P4 they will just chase the treats, but they don't do any tricks. I have a few dogz like that, but since I have P3,4 & 5 I can work around that.

Wow. I didn't know that. That's slightly upsetting. That doesn't affect her doing anything else does it? I wonder if I can get P3 anywhere. x3
But just so I know I'm doing it right, you place the dog facing sideways and wiggle the treat at their side, right? I'm not really good at training with treats. I'm kind of clueless on that. ._.

Yes, that's the right way to teach the jump trick.
Can you get her to jump through a hoop? I think the glitch doesn't affect that kind of jumping.

It took a little bit, but yes she can jump through the hoop when she stops hitting it. x3 Is that acceptable for broad jump?

The reason I ask is because I have several dogs imported from D3 into D4 and I know for sure one of them will do tricks. It just takes MUCH much more persistence, but whether that is because the dog I am working with is stubborn, or because of the glitch, I'm not sure. Either way that is a pain in the bottom

Yes, it's a well known glitch in other parts of the petz community All my dogz that I have adopted or bred in P3 will not do tricks in P4, no matter how hard or how long I try. They do respond to treats, but they don't do tricks. They act like you are holding a ball or other toy.
