Info
Draft dog tests tests the ability of a dog to pull a cart with weight. In real these are only open to dogz like newfoundlands or bernese mountain dogs. But here we want to keep this open for any breed of dog.
Judges
These tests work different since they don't have titles to gain, the dog just passes the tests or fails the tests. Because of this it is needed that judges have been approved to hold these tests. A judge will own a dog that has passed the test before, to proove that they understand the test. Applications for judges will be open in the future when more dogz have passed the test.
How it works
The test excist of 3 parts: basic control, harnessing and maneuvering course. In all parts the ability of the breedfile will be kept in mind.
Basic Control
This part shows the obedience of the dog. The dog must do the following tasks:
1) Heel: the dog must heel and form an M with his legs, going left to right.
2) Recall: dog must be running from left to right looking at the direction where it's going to. It must show speed in it's run.
3) Down Stay: the dog must be laying down with his eyes on the camera and do not show any signs of getting up.
Harnessing
The dog must show that it has no fear of the harness and cooperate with being harnessed.
1) Stand: dog must be standing waiting for his handler to return with the harness. Dog must be looking forward.
2) Being harnessed: dog must enjoying being harnessed (any harness may be used). Dog must be standing to the side.
Maneuvering Course
The dog must do a course while pulling a cart (may be any sled or cart).
1) Stand with cart attached: standing still with cart attached looking forward
2) Walk with cart: walk slowly with cart attached, eyes looking forward, left to right or right to left.
3) Turn with cart: dog must make a turn with cart attached, eyes on the direction where it's going. The dog must be going in the direction of the arrow.
How to enter
You can enter these tasks by making a post in the draft dog board. You have to make the title of the post your dogz showname. In the post itself you put the pictures of all tasks in the same order they are in the example above.
So you don't have to wait untill a show opens, you just make your post for each dog you want to enter. Please keep it to one dog per post, make a new post for every dog you enter. If you have any questions you may always pm me
